  We had been here a few times. The food wasn't bad and it was close to our house. Went there for lunch recently and after waiting 45 min for a simple order we had to leave without getting our food (as we had somewhere to get to). When we tried to pay for the drink that we got the server was rude and told us we could just leave. Definitely won't go back. There are better sushi places in Des Moines with much better service.

  I have been to Sakari numerous times over the years. There's a reason.
  
  I know there are a number of sushi joints in Des Moines but Sakari has become my favorite. First, they have amazing service and the food is awesome.
  
  Try their Moscow Mules. Sakari has the best of the best and it's a decent sized mug. The Cucumber Mule is a killer. Awesome stuff.
  
  If you write reviews, like I do, you aren't a true "reviewer" unless you visit the restroom. I always use the rest room to wash my hands before eating in any restaurant. The rest room in Sakari's is spotless and odor free. If you visit a restaurant restroom, you can imagine that the kitchen is a similar condition. If it is filthy, smelly my advise is don't order. Leave.
  
  Sit at the bar and enjoy the hustle and bustle. The joint is usually very busy and that should tell you something. If I had four thumbs, all four would be UP!

  A favorite lunch and dinner spot. The lunch bento box is a great value at $12. Amazing local specialty rolls. The owner, Jason, is almost always around and super friendly. My favorite sushi spot in Des Moines!
